What's Buggin' Me? Josh: Ricky William's return to the Miami Dolphins.

What's Buggin' Me? Michael: Wade Bogg's and Ryne Sandberg's induction to the hall of fame, and whether these two deserved first ballot inductions.

Philly Sports: The Philadelphia Phillies are rumored to acquire Danys Baez from the Devil Rays, even though they have two closers already. They have also began free falling, and are basically not a playoff team.

National Sports: The NHL CBA has come to fruition, and Josh and Michael are very excited about the new hockey season.

Political Story: The War on Terror has changed its name to "The Global Struggle Against Extremism." Josh and Michael both think that this is so unnecessary.

What's buggin' me? Josh: The format and rules of the NHL Entry Draft. This bugs him because, since each team is going to have a completely different look, everyone should have an equal shot at phenom Sidney Crosby. Hwoever, the last three years will determine a team's chance.

What's buggin' me? Michael: The attention Drew Rosenhaus received for saving the life of a 4 year-old boy, and how, in Michael's eyes, Drew used that attention in a completely inappropriate way.

Philadelphia Sports: The 76ers re-signed restricted free agents Kyle Korver and Willie Green to 6 year deals. Josh and Michael discuss the short-term future for the Sixers, and whether these sginings were a good idea.

National Sports: With the trade deadline looming, Josh and Michael discuss several trade possibilities, including Ryan Howard, A.J Burnett, and Mike Lowell.

Politics/Entertainment: President Bush nominated Washington DC federal judge, John Roberts, to fill the newly open spot on the Supreme Court. Josh thinks it he is a solid choice, with th exception of his stance on abortion. Michael thinks the whole system has become too politicized, and, on that note, Roberts is far too conservative.

Heres what Josh and Michael discussed on their show this week...

What's buggin' me? Josh: The I.O.C. has decided that baseball and softball will no longer be olympic sports after the 2008 games. Josh thinks that this is a terrible decision, because baseball is a great olympic sport, and banning women's softball is a clear American bias.

What's buggin' me? Michael: The World Series of Poker will end on July 16th, and chances are, will be announced by news publications. This upsets him because he would like to be surprised by the winner, so he can watch the event with some suspense involved.

Philly sports: Bobby Abreu's performance for the ages at the Century 21 Home Run Derby in Detroit. Bobby hit 41 home runs, breaking the previous record of 27, set by Miguel Tejada last year in Houston.

National Sports (Josh and Michael did 3 stories quickly, instead of 1 larger, longer story):
1. Adam "Pac-Man" Jones, the 6th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, was arrested on assault and battery charges. This is continuing a disturbing trend among young NFL players getting in trouble.
2. University of Missouri freshman linebacker Aaron O'Neal died Tuesday after participating in a voluntary workout. These deaths in football have Josh wondering whether of not it's the way these kids treat their bodies that are causing these deaths. Luckily, Producer Sean is an expert on this topic, and his imput put an end to the discussion.
3. The Detroit Pistons are evidently close to firing head coach Larry Brown. Josh thinks this is the biggest mistake the Pistons could make, because he says Larry Brown is the best coach in the last 35 years, and currently the best coach in professional sports. Michael thinks Larry has burned too many bridges, and that another coach can lead them to a title.

Political/Entertainment story: N.A.S.A. has delayed their next shuttle mission. Michael thinks it's integral that America goes back into space, while Josh wants to wait until they are sure it's as safe as can be.

It is important to note that Producer Joel will no longer be with the show, as he has been replaced, at least on a temporary basis, with Sean, our new producer.

What's buggin' me? Josh: The obsession with Danica Patrick. He thinks its too premature, and it reminds him of Anna Kournikova.

What's buggin' me? Michael: A woman is suing N.A.S.A for $300,000,000 because they blew up an astroid that she claims messed up her horoscope. He thinks this is pointless and frivolous.

Philadelphia sports: The ongoing Terrell Owens saga. Josh thinks that the fans should be wanting the Eagles and T.O. to come together, because he wants a championship, and the only way that's possible is with T.O. Michael thinks it sets a bad precident, and the Eagles should stick to their guns.

National sports: Kenny Rogers incident with the cameramen was terrible, but certainly not the first of its kind. Josh thinks the 20 game suspension and $50,000 fine was enough, but Michael contends that it should have been more, including the him losing the ability to participate in the All-star game.

Political/Entertainment story: Will the Live 8 concerts have any effect on the G8 Summit? Josh and Michael agree that chances are, it won't affect much.

Philadelphia Sports: The Flyers might have the opportunity to grab the best defenseman and goalie in the game... from the Devils. Josh and Michael discuss whether it is possible to separate a player from their team, if they have been there for a long time.

National Sports: The NBA draft was on Tuesday. Josh and Michael argue over who was the best player in the draft (not Andrew Bogut). They talked about who got steals and which teams just made terrible picks.

Political/Entertainment: The Discovery Channel held a "The Greatest American" contest. Ronald Reagan ended up winning the whole thing. Josh gives his props to Ronald. Michael says it is a travesty that this man beat out men like Washington and Lincoln.

What's buggin' me? Josh: ESPN's coverage of Wimbledon. He's upset that they hype up a match, then show a completely different one.

What's buggin' me? Michael: Pointless scientific studies. He's angry that people are wasting money on studies that have no affect on our lives.

Philadelphia Sports: Josh and Michael discuss the Phillies' difficult road trip to Seattle and Oakland. Josh believes that this is the beginning of the end for the team, while Michael disagrees and thinks that the recent slump is typical of the ebbs and flows of a season.

National Sports: The U.S. Open concluded on Sunday, and Kiwi Michael Campbell won his first major. Tiger Woods finished in second place, and Josh wonders if it's ok for him to always want Tiger to win. Michael says he like to see someone give Tiger a run for his money. Then the coversation moves back and forth between Tioger and dynasties in sports.

Josh and Michael decided to add a mail segment this week instead of a politics/entertainment story (next week may have both segments), responding to a listener who asked a question by leaving a comment on this blog.
